Vision and Mission

India has always emphasized that climate change is a global collective action problem and requires international cooperation for its solution. India is a Party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and its Kyoto Protocol (KP), and the Paris Agreement (PA).

The Global Warming Reduction Centres stands committed to combating climate change through its several programmes and schemes. These centres are engaged in studies on various aspects of climate change that includes studies on glaciers, agriculture, regional climate change, vulnerability assessment and adaptation, technology assessment and mitigation, development of local air quality management system and pollution and wastewater treatment . GWRCs will also assist national and local governments by raising awareness, organizing workshops and trainings, developing evaluation tools.
